The release of examination results by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is a highly anticipated event for
students and parents across the country. Whether it's the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of
Education (UCE), or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), the process for checking results is now simpler
than ever. This article offers a step-by-step guide on how to check UNEB results, including when they are released and
the methods available for quick and easy access.
To find out how to check UNEB results, you have three main options: via SMS, through the online portal, or by going
directly to the school. Before results are officially announced, UNEB holds a press conference to brief the public
on the performance of the candidates. Once the results are released, candidates can check them using the following
        methods.

        - SMS (Text Message)
This is the most common method, especially for individual candidates and parents.

            - Requirements: A mobile phone with airtime and the candidate's full index number.
            - Steps:

                    - Open the messaging app on your phone.

- Create a new message.

- Type the examination code (PLE, UCE, or UACE) followed by a space.

- Enter the candidate's full index number (e.g., PLE 004401/380 or UCE U2322/001).

- Send the message to the shortcode 6600.

- Wait for a reply with the results.

            - Note: This service is available on all mobile networks in Uganda and costs between UGX 500 and UGX 600 per message.
        - UNEB e-Registration Portal
This method is primarily for school administrators to access the results of all candidates from their school. However,
there is also a way for individual candidates to access their results through the portal.

                - For school administrators:

- Log in to the UNEB e-Registration portal (ereg.uneb.ac.ug) using your center number and password.

- Navigate to the "Results" section and download the results in PDF format.

                - For individual candidates (Check online):

- Visit the UNEB e-Registration portal and go to the "eresults" page (ereg.uneb.ac.ug/eresults).

- Enter your index number and click "Search".

- The portal will display your results and passport photo for verification.

        - School Notice Board
For those who prefer the traditional method, visiting the school is a reliable option. School administrators will
have received the hard copies of the results and will typically pin them on the school notice board.
                    - Requirements: Your index number and patience, as you might need to queue.

- Steps:

                            - Wait for the official release of results.

- Go to your school and look for the results on the notice board.

- You can also get a provisional result slip (reccomendation letter) from the school administration.

Tips for checking results

        - Be patient: Sometimes, the systems might be congested, so if you don't get the results immediately,
wait a few minutes and try again.
        - Have enough credit: If using the SMS method, ensure you have enough airtime.
        - Double-check the index number: Always double-check your index number to avoid getting incorrect results.
        - Wait for the official release: Do not panic if the results are not out yet. Wait for the official announcement from UNEB.
        - Contact UNEB if necessary: If you have issues with your results, you can contact UNEB for verification.
